Stretching After Waking Up-0
What activities are usually performed after waking up? Direct shower? Lounging in bed? Or even sleeping again? Most people do not usually fully regain their awareness after waking up. It makes us difficult and tend to feel lazy when we want to do other activities after waking up. The best way to deal with laziness is to fight it. We can fight drowsiness by doing activities such as exercise, yoga, or dance. but if it feels too complicated, and takes a long time, we can do small things like light stretching. Did we know? indirectly, stretching activity also can eliminate the rest of drowsiness and body aches.
After waking from sleep for a long time at night, our bodies and our minds need time to be fully conscious. In addition, sleeping with the same position for a long time at night, can make the muscles in some parts of the body becomes stiff and tense when awakened. Therefore, stretching after waking up is very important to do. Besides being able to regain consciousness and relax the muscles of our body, stretching can also eliminate sleepiness and make you more excited in the morning. 1. Hands Up Stretching
Maybe we unconsciously also often do this movement when just waking up. Like connecting the fingers of both hands and lifted straight up the head with the palm facing up. We can perform this movement with a sitting position on the mattress or standing. Hold for 10 seconds.
2. Loosening Neck and Shoulder Muscles
Falling asleep with the wrong head position can cause tension in the neck muscles, so the neck to shoulder area feels sore and even sore. Stretching is the most effective way to relax the stiff neck muscles. You can bend the neck facing down, to the left side, to the right side, and up, then make a circular motion. Meanwhile, to relax the shoulder muscles, turn the shoulders toward the back, toward the front, then shrug the shoulders up and down again. Perform every movement three times.
3. Spinal Twists Movemen
Sometimes the back area, especially the lower back can feel sore after waking up. To fix this, we can do spinal twist movement. Way, lie sideways to the left, bend your right leg knee to the side, then turn the body in the opposite direction and hold for 30 seconds. When performing this movement, you should extend both hands to the side. After that, do also spinal twist movement to the right.
4. Thighs Stretching
We can do this stretching thigh movement by lying on the mattress. The trick is hanging facing left, then bend your right leg to the back, hold for 30 seconds while feeling the muscles of your thigh stretch. Then do the same movement with the position of the body lying facing to the right.
5. Leg Stretching
This movement can also be done while lying on a mattress. Lie on your back, then lift one leg straight up, so as to form a 90 degree angle. Hold for 10 seconds, then replace by lifting the other leg straight up.
